What happens when an ambitious employee buys her boss at a bachelor auction?

25074406Florist Faith Crawford has a brilliant plan — win her company’s CEO at a bachelor auction and use their ‘date’ to show him her designs. But her plan backfires when the focus of their meeting shifts from flowers to a floor-tilting kiss.

For Dylan Hawke, it’s time for damage control. Promoting the talented Faith is a no-brainer, but fraternising with her is strictly forbidden. Dylan must remain professional; the fate of his business rests in the balance. Too bad Dylan won’t rest until he gets another kiss…

First Impression: Excellent writing, in-depth characterization, with a hero and heroine worth rooting for.

I loved this book! Dylan Hawke is one of those strong, powerful heroes I immediately loved because even with all his wealth and power, underneath is a genuinely good guy who cares about others and wants to do the right thing. His attraction to Faith, a florist who works for him and wanted the chance to get her floral designs in the store’s catalog so badly she bought him in a charity bachelor auction, is a surprise…and a problem. Because Dylan wants to clean up his image and he has a no fraternization policy at work for a reason, but Faith tempts him, and the pull he feels toward her is stronger than he’s prepared to fight…or deny for long.

Bidding On Her Boss is the second book in author Rachel Bailey’s The Hawk Brothers series and thus far, it’s my favorite. In fact, I loved it so much than even though I received a print copy from the author for review purposes, I bought a digital copy for my kindle, too. Why both formats, you ask? I like the fact that my kindle syncs to my fire phone and so when I read, it saves my place in both locations. That’s a great thing when you want to read something on break or lunch at work and this book is well-worth a future reread.

I loved Dylan and Faith. I thought they were a great match for each other and I enjoyed their journey to love a lot. They were both great characters who were as intriguing as they were fascinating and the more I read about them, the more I liked and wanted to know more.

I definitely recommend this read, and the first book in the series, too, if you haven’t read it yet. Both are great reads, with excellent characters and fun, captivating storylines.
