UNEXPECTED AND UNDENIABLE…

Bailey Moore has an agenda: skiing in the Rockies, exploring castles in Europe, ballroom dancing in Argentina. Now that she has a second lease on life, she’s determined not to miss a thing. What she doesn’t realize is that item #1 comes with a six-foot-one ski god hot enough to melt a polar ice cap. She doesn’t want to miss out on him either, but Hudson Kincaid isn’t the type of guy to love and let go. And as gorgeous as Cedar Ridge is, she’s not planning to stick around.

As head of ski patrol at his family’s resort, Hud thinks he’s seen it all. But never has he run into someone like Bailey. She might look delicate, but her attitude is all firecracker. And her infectious joy touches something deep within him that he’s been missing far too long. Now he’ll just have to convince Bailey to take a chance on her biggest adventure yet . . . something rare and all kinds of wonderful.

First Impression: Fun, charming, and entertaining, with two compelling lead characters

Guys, I seriously loved this book! The opening chapters alone made me love this story, because they were fun, but also meaningful, and they gave our hero and heroine, Hudson and Bailey, a cute, fun, and completely perfect way to meet each other. But the entire book is just one of those fast-paced, witty, in-depth romance reads that sweeps you up and runs you through a whole gamut of emotions.

Hudson is a fantastic romantic lead. He’s strong, stubborn, and holds so much emotion inside of him, so much guilt and pain over his past actions, and yet, he still has a huge heart and a huge capacity to care about others. I loved him so much!

And Bailey? She’s a survivor, with a stubborn streak to match Hudson and a determination to live her life on her terms, chasing her dreams even though parts of it scare her. She doesn’t quit when other people might and she’s such a worthy heroine for Hudson. Because she smoothes the rough edges in him and he helps her further realize her own strength, her own bravery.

There is so much I loved about this book. It’s incredibly fun and easy to read, but it’s got so much heart and so much emotional depth to it, and so many beautiful observations about life and love. It’s beautiful, genuine, heartfelt, and poignant, with a charming cast of characters that I absolutely adored.  This was such a pleasure read for me, and I can say without a doubt it’s my favorite Jill Shalvis read to date, and that’s saying something because I’ve been a fan and reader of this author since her very first Harlequin book in the late nineties.

If you’re looking for a compelling, well-written winter romance read, My Kind of Wonderful by Jill Shalvis is the perfect contemporary romance book to choose. I know I loved it, and I highly recommend reading it for anyone looking for a well-thought romance with two memorable, well-rounded characters.

authorbio

New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis lives in a small town in the Sierras with her family and far too many assorted quirky characters. Any resemblance to the quirky characters in her books is, um, mostly coincidental.

Visit Jill’s website for a complete book list and daily blog detailing her city-girl-living-in-the-mountains adventures.
