Book Summary

The mistletoe is out, and the gloves are off . . .

‘Tis the worst season to be single, but Kara Hastings won’t let a little Christmas funk spoil the festive season. Sure, running her own bakery is a little harder than she expected, but she can handle it. And she’ll prove it to a certain infuriatingly handsome, bossy Big City guy. She may be sugar and spice, but she can kick his butt twice.

Nate Griffin is in Briar Creek only for the holidays, and he refuses to fall for the whole “small town, candy cane-scented Christmas Wonderland” thing. He’s more interested in the fresh-faced cookie chef who always knows exactly how to get under his skin. So when Nate challenges Kara in the town’s big holiday contest, it’s not just the competition that starts to heat up. If he’s not careful, Kara won’t just melt his icy resolve against a small-town Christmas . . . she’ll melt his heart too.

My Thoughts

*ARC provided by Publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review*

Well-written, fast-paced, and beautifully heart-warming, Christmas Comes to Main Street by Olivia Miles is a light-hearted, feel-good Christmas-themed romance. And the perfect way to end the author’s beloved Briar Creek series. But don’t worry if you haven’t read the first four books in this series because though they create a gorgeous picture of the town and its residents, each book can be read as a standalone.

In Christmas Comes to Main Street, sparks fly when city boy Nate Griffin comes to Briar Creek for the holidays and runs into new town bakery store owner Kara Hastings, a woman he would love to get to know better despite her love for all things Christmas. Except the more time he spends with Kara, the more Nate starts to get into the spirit of the season, something he never thought he would ever do, and before he knows it, he feels changed.

I have been waiting for Kara’s story forever and I wasn’t disappointed with how it turned out in the least. I loved the chemistry between Kara and Nate, and all the festive holiday competition stuff, too. I also loved how Kara and Nate met, the misunderstandings they had between them, and them finally getting to know each other better. It was a sweet romance that made me grin and swept me away to a town I’d really love to visit, and especially at Christmastime.

Final Analysis

Beautiful romance read!
